Dissertation progress

As I set up in my summerplan post in May, one of the things I was going to work on over the summer was my dissertation. Since my dissertation proposal, I've changed my dissertation completely. After feedback from my dissertation supervisor, I chose to change the topic to something that's more relevant to my degree and interests: Documentary

For now it's on the research stage, since the books I brought over are of no use now seeing as they were inteded for the first dissertation topic. However, I will be researching the topic online and see what I can find. I have been thinking of looking into the Arab spring and citizen journalism. As part of that I've ordered the book Karama! Journeys through the Arab Spring by Johnny West from Amazon.

Skeive Dager done 'n dusted

Skeive Dager 2012 (Oslo Pride Days 2012) is now finished and it was absolutely amazing. I met and got to work with some really great people. Like I described in the post in May (Videographer for...), I would be working every day of the festival, making daily videos that would go up on the YouTube channel. In addition I had to administrate and design the channel (see design below).

Screenshot of the Skeive Dager YouTube channel. Access it HERE.
These videos were shot in the day and were uploaded by the next morning (I set 10:00 AM as my deadline).  The first video got over 1500 views within the first 12 hours. The idea was to upload daily videos that would be promoted and shown on the festivals main website during it and it was a great success. One of the biggest highlight was probably meeting and interviewing the Høyre (Conservative Party) leader, Erna Solberg.

Here are all the ten films I made (all in Norwegian, except one):
