My new job

So happy right now! I got offered the job as cinematographer with Discover the World. I am to go on a trip to Italy and make a 12-15 min documentary/promo video, following schools. The plan is to follow one school each day ;) They're covering all my expenses, so I'm thrilled beyond any human point at the moment.

Right now I'll use the next few days to brainstorm and create some suggestions to the company on what one could aim for.

I'll keep you posted.

Clifton Street

A documentar made for Cardiff Story Museum. It's a about Clifton street in Cardiff, a very different street. We see a selection of some of the shopkeepers there and their view. The finished piece is exhibited in Cardiff Story Museum (Old Library) from 12/01/2012 to 10/02/2012.

Experience
I found it quite exciting and fun to do. I got to experiment and get to know my Canon 7D even better, which only is a benefit. Having a documentary that I've worked on exhibited in a museum is an great honour. At the opening night I met a great deal of people, the BBC Producer for Being Human amongst others, and got to introduce myself.

Career

At the moment I'm about to apply to jobs, both in the UK and in Norway for the summer. I'm really looking forward to seeing the finished documentary of Clifton Street I worked on for Cardiff Story Museum in the old library. It's a 11 minute documentary that will be exhibited for 1 month in Cardiff Story Museum.

Other than that, I've just applied to a job as a cinematographer / videographer with an event company that does travels all over the world. I sent them my CV and an application, so really crossing my fingers that I'll hear from them. If I do get job, I get to go to Iceland and film, which would be amazing and just in the line of work I dream and aspire to do. Cross your fingers for me please.

Next to that I'm soon starting on my documentary film for the year long Student Led project. I'm working together with one of my friends, Angella, who's doing a Master degree in journalism over at Swansea University. We have a topic, but I'm not going to tell just yet, so you have to wait a few months first.

Also I'm doing a behind-the-scenes series for Lens Productions (3rd year student production company) on their new film All's fair together with fellow student Iain and first year student Sam. We'll start shooting  hopefully within a few weeks.

And I got some other bits and pieces coming up, but nothing is confirmed just yet. So also stay tuned on my NEW Facebook page. Please like -- > facebook.com/TDLmedia

Hopefully within two-three weeks I will have finished my showreel for 2011.

Packing and planning

Right now I'v been packing my bags since I'm leaving for Swansea tomorrow. All my cameraes, hardrives, laptop etc. neatly fitted into bags and back packs.

These clips I shot on my way back to Norway for Christmas. I've got a tradition were I take pictures/videos of the view outside (if possible).

Right now I'm working on several projects, both university and external projects. The documentary I worked as a camera operator on, is being exhibited in Cardiff Story from mid January.

Hopefully in the last couple of weeks in January you'll be able to see a copy of that AND of my "secret" project.
